I had to change custom template several time before I can find the custom template works for IE7, IE8, firefox, and google adsense. I used techlure, water color, and black split templates. Techlure is perfect template but it disabled google adsense in the between posts, so i change another template. I tried water color template, but it doesn't work for IE7 and IE8. I decided to use black split and it works perfectly. Black split is dark but has something related to my personal is art and works nearly all browsers and doesn't disable google adsense in between the posts.
I wish whoever design the template should give users to test before they release the template, so there would be less issues with those template. To test template before release it, they need test multiple browsers including versions (IE7, IE8) even though they don't have version of a browser. They should give some people to test when they use different browser that the designer don't have. Also, they need check to make sure Google Adsense works in the template because there are million people use Google Adsense. It takes time, but i know it would be worth for their time at the end because they don't have to help thousands users to solve the minor or major issues to match the users' needs to eat up their time and help them focus creating more templates.
After the tests and released template, the designer can set up a chat or live support to help some people who still have some issues in limited hours such as 8am to 5pm. If the designer does not have time, use email support and response in around one day to three days or hire someone do it for the designer.
I hope my suggestions would help designers.
