Blogger/Vloggers especially deaf blogger/vloggers can promote their blogs and vlogs and spread "audism" to hearing people. What they can do to successfully generating traffic to their blog following are:
1. Join Twitter and follow someone who have thousands followers, so bloggers/vloggers will have new followers. Post a link blog in 140 characters something that common people would enjoy once or two times per week. Also, join other social networking such as facebook, myspace, and google connect (follows) and do same as you would do in twitter. Plus, join blog networks would be another benefit as social networks.
2. Join and be active in any forum communities. Also, bloggers should add their blog/vlog in the signature.
3. Join Yahoo Answers and answer people's questions and some of blogger/vloggers' answers will be considered best that would impress hearing people. Make sure that bloggers/vloggers have a profile is visible in yahoo answers and include their blog/vlog in there.
4. Optimize their blog/vlog to make it friendly search engine.
5. Write something that common people know to generate more traffic. Make sure that it is drama, interesting, newsworthy, give tips that benefit everyone, and admit that They are wrong or right about something. Make sure the title has one major keyword at beginning for search engine. Make sure the link for each post should be in words instead number that would make engine search friendly.
6. Leaving comments in other blogs that bloggers/vloggers would enjoy to read, so people can read the comment and possibly go to bloggers/vloggers' blog/vlog.
7. Add the blog/vlog link in email signature, so people would forward email with bloggers/vloggers' blog link.
8. Once blogger/vloggers promote their blog, ensure they include audism's definition to help people understand it's meaning.
Note: Vloggers are encouraged to add subtitles or just write everything what they say in video as transcript, so it would be available for everyone to enjoy their message. It would encourage others to do same for deaf people.
In the result getting more traffic, bloggers/vloggers probably have more readership and someone out there would learn new word "Audism." It won't happen in overnight, but it will take a toll in near future.
I hope those tips would benefit you. If you have anything to suggest, feel free to leave the comment here.

Sharyn,
Marvelous idea!
That's what I did propose the similar recommendation for us to spill our black kettle into the mainstream media to publish our inner thoughts on deaf issues on my blog.
I wish that I could insert the link to my blog archive within particular blog posting.
I have a lot of online editing and posting skills to learn. :)
Keep up the good work, Sharyn!

DeafRead.com had a lot of traffic and great numbers of readers two years ago until people like Mike McConnell, paotie, White Ghost, Candy, Karen/Brian Mayes, etc came in and ruined it.
Mike McConnell and MZ invited many ci, oral, etc to invade Deafread and now not many visit anymore and many quit too.
too Bad for Deafread, maybe should change to (d)eafread, not DeafRead, ha
bye
Whoever post about deafread. Well, your comment is not really related to my post. I just simply give tips to help deaf people to spread the word about audism by getting more traffic by hearing people, so they can learn the word. If oral, ci, see signers are not welcomed into DeafRead by the owner is a discrimination, too. Variety of deaf peoplew are welcome. I am sorry that you feel that way, but I believe that everyone have a right to know more about deaf culture and be part of it.
